The Desert Trip Festival hosted in Indio, California is one of those events that attracts the older crowd. This year a surprise guest, Rihanna, gave the festival a breath of fresh air, showing up on stage and performing with The Beatles’ Paul McCartney.
The 74-year-old singer even made an age joke as Rihanna steps on stage. “We finally found someone under 50” he said on the mic. The 28-year-old “Umbrella” singer, performed “Four Five Seconds” on stage with McCartney, a song they worked together on with Kanye West.
Fans went crazy and took it on to social media to show their excitement.

Mary McCartney took over her father’s Instagram that night, who also got some amazing footage of the “Work Singer” performing to post. She also took some content for her own accounts as well.
Rihanna wasn’t only the only special guest for McCartney’s performance. His fellow headliner for the second night of the festival also came on stage to perform with him. Neil Young joined McCartney to perform “Why Don’t We Do It in the Road”, “Give Peace a Chance” and “A Day in the Life”.
Other than being hosted at Indio, California, Desert Trip like Coachella is also a two-weekend event. McCartney took it to Twitter to express his thankfulness to Rihanna for guest performing during his set.

Coachella is known to attract the younger generations, however, there were a bunch of young A-list celebrities that made an appearance to Desert Trip. Emma Stone, Kate Hudson, Stella McCartney, and Paris Hilton were a few of the young celebrities that danced the night away at the festival.
This was not Rihanna and McCartney’s first time performing live together. They also performed together at the 2015 Grammys along with Kanye West. Many fans are excited and are hoping that there will be more future collaboration between them.
